2005.11.1 - News Update

Officer Notice

I put up a LAN section up and replaced the upcoming projects and events button with Forum since that is our main means of communication. We did get sponsored by Nvidia! So we want to give them a big thank you for that! Our Lan is coming up so be sure to check forums for new updates. Still working on making the new ACM site (on our newer box) accessible externally. This process is taking awhile because the school is taking extreme safety measures.

We are hoping to order shirts by the end of this week! So make sure you go to the forum and cast your vote on sizes so we can make sure you get the size you need!

- Richard Somphithack, Web Admin 2005-2006

2005.10.11 - News Update

ACM Updates

For those of you who missed the meeting, we had a recap on our guest speaker from HP, Abid Majeed Akbar. And would like to thank him once again for coming down to inform us of some of the projects and assignments that software engineers and such do with a large company like HP!

T-shirt designs has been official selected thanks to those who voted on the forum. Now we ask that you vote once again on T-shirt sizes just so we can get a good idea of the range of sizes we need to buy. You may do that here

And last but not least, our HIGHLY anticipated LAN party event. We got help from our friends at EBgames who has donated some prizes and a secret prize raffle!!! Officers will be informing you of when the tickets will be available but basically it is a fund raiser for our club. More details to come on that later.

Games that will be played at this LAN are:
- Battlefield 2
- Call of Duty 2
- Civilizations IV
- Day of Defeat: Source

...and several more to be announced. Again if you have suggestions, hop on the forum and post then we will put on a vote. This is to ensure that everyone gets a chance to play the same game, and if you don't have it, you can go out and buy it from our friends at EBgames on Mangrove street! COnsole gaming competition for games such as MAdden, Halo 2, Donkey Congo, will also be there! Multiplayer setup and ready to go. We are hoping for help with getting more projectors so that we can provide more systems, so if you can help with this please let us know! This LAN will be held at Selvesters on Campus. Seat's will be filling up fast so We urge you to be there early! If you are interested in loaning your console gaming to play at the LAN, please contact us or post on the forum. Here are the details:
